Reddit Marketing
Your buyers ask candid questions on Reddit, and the wrong move gets removed within hours. We run the full channel: monitoring, community strategy, engagement, and reputation defense.
Reddit Punishes Marketing and Rewards Help
Reddit is one of the few places buyers speak candidly about vendors, and one of the least forgiving places to market. Those threads also rank in Google and get cited by AI assistants, so they shape opinion long after they are written.
Brands fail in one of two directions: ignore Reddit and lose a narrative they never see, or show up sounding like a brand and get removed within hours. The real rules are not in the sidebar. A vendor link is welcome in one community and an instant removal in the next.
How We Work
Listening Setup
We map the communities where your category is actually discussed and configure the brand, competitor, and topic terms that define a relevant conversation. Every mention is classified by stance toward your brand, not surface sentiment.
Community Strategy
Which communities to engage, what account model to use, and what cadence is sustainable. Each community is chosen on evidence: topic overlap, how strictly it moderates, and how fast its threads move.
Opportunity Triage
Live threads are scored on relevance, answerability, and freshness, so the team works a short ranked list instead of everything mentioning your category. Threads we pass on are dismissed with a recorded reason, which is how the ranking improves.
Draft, Approve, Post
We draft a reply that answers the question first and check it against the community's rules and its actual enforcement record. You approve it, then a person posts it from a real account and records the permalink.
Measure and Adjust
Every posted reply is rechecked nightly: still live, removed, what score it earned, what replies it drew. Removals are signal. They tell us which communities are worth the effort.
Tracking the Conversation, Not Just Your Name
Brand monitoring shows the conversations you are already named in. That is the smallest part of the picture, and usually the latest.
Alongside it we track the subjects your communities are discussing whether or not you are mentioned, and follow each one over time. That gives you early warning when a complaint pattern starts forming, a read on which problems your buyers are actually trying to solve, and a shortlist of threads where a useful answer from your team would be welcome.
What the Program Covers
Four channel pillars plus the operating layer that keeps the work safe.
Monitoring and Listening
Continuous capture of brand, competitor, and topic mentions across the communities that matter to you, with negative mentions surfaced first.
Community Strategy
Which communities to participate in, what account model fits your business, and what phases of genuine contribution come before anything promotional.
Engagement Execution
Drafted replies that stand on their own as useful answers, checked against the target community's rules, approved by you, and posted by a person from a real account.
Reputation Defense
Catching negative and inaccurate threads while they are still small, capturing the evidence, and making the honest call about whether a response helps or makes it worse.
Moderation Intelligence
Each community's written rules alongside what its moderators actually enforce, tracked over time, so we know before drafting whether a link or a disclosure will survive there.
Reddit-Native Reporting
Survival rates, removals, comment scores, and replies earned, plus how sentiment in your communities is moving.
The Rules We Work Under
Five rules govern every reply we write on your behalf:
- Answer the question first. If the reply is not genuinely useful to the person who asked, nothing else about it matters.
- Link only where it helps and is welcome in that specific community. Everywhere else, the reply stands on its own words.
- Disclose affiliation when it is relevant. Readers find out either way, and hearing it from you first is the version that builds trust.
- Write every reply fresh for the thread it answers.
- Participate at a human pace, because credibility on Reddit is built over months rather than campaigns.
Each one is a check built into the software the team uses, and a draft moves forward only once it clears them.
The Tooling Behind the Service
We built our own platform for this work, because off-the-shelf social tools treat Reddit like another feed to broadcast into.
A Scored Opportunity Queue
Threads scored from 0 to 100 on relevance, answerability, and freshness, with a floor of 50 and a seven-day reply window. Every score can be inspected and overruled.
Eight Automated Draft Checks
Every draft is checked for links, length, disclosure, banned phrases, factual claims, repetition, pacing, and whether it needs a subject-matter expert we have not brought in yet.
Pacing Limits and Removal Evidence
A ceiling of two posted replies per community per rolling week, and a record of comments moderators removed there with their notes quoted exactly. We know what a community pulls down before we write.
The Reddit Engagement Hub
Our platform for the whole loop: monitor, engage, draft, and track. You approve every reply before it goes out.
Written and Posted by People
Our software drafts. A person reads it, makes the final call, and posts it from a real account they actually use, then records the link so we can track what happens next.
That sequence is the whole approach, and it sets an honest expectation about scale. Reddit pays back a small number of genuinely useful contributions from someone who understands your category, which is a different shape of channel from paid social and worth planning as one.
How Our Approach Differs
Most Reddit marketing is a volume play wearing a community-building costume.
| Feature | Typical Reddit Outreach | The Nectiv Approach |
|---|---|---|
| Who posts | Bots or a stable of thin accounts | A person, from a real account, every time |
| Community rules | Sidebar skimmed once, if at all | Written rules plus tracked enforcement history |
| Volume | As many threads as possible | A scored queue with a hard pacing ceiling |
| Links | Dropped by default | Only when clearly useful and permitted there |
| Disclosure | Avoided, because it hurts response rates | Required and automatically checked |
| Approval | None, or a monthly report after the fact | Your team approves every reply before it posts |
| Reporting | Impressions and reach estimates | Survival, removals, replies earned, sentiment movement |

Who This Fits, and What It Pairs With
This works for B2B and considered-purchase brands whose category is genuinely discussed on Reddit, where you can put a knowledgeable person behind the answers, and where you are willing to contribute before promoting.
On measurement we will be direct. We report Reddit-native signals: whether contributions survived, what engagement they earned, and how sentiment in your communities is moving. We would rather report a smaller number we can defend. The work pairs naturally with off-site authority building and informs the questions we target in SEO strategy.
