The Best Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) Tools

Transcript:

Hey everyone, Chris Long with Nectiv here. For today’s GEO tip, I’m going to walk through three of our favorite AI tools that we’re using to analyze AI, assess strategies, and evaluate different queries and prompts.

1. ChatGPT Path (by Aima)

One of our favorite Chrome extensions is this really cool one called ChatGPT Path by Aima.

Basically, if you have a ChatGPT query that triggers search results (which this one did), it will extract a lot of information about that result:

  • The queries ChatGPT used

  • Its internal thoughts

  • Product information

  • The sources ChatGPT used

  • Snippets from each source

It gives you a really comprehensive understanding of all the different factors ChatGPT used to aggregate that result from search — super powerful, especially just to see the individual queries.

2. Ahrefs AI Citations Report

Another great tool is Ahrefs, especially if you’re analyzing AI visibility for any website.

Here, I plugged in Zapier, and in the AI Citations box, you can get really strong competitive insights — specifically on how visible a brand is across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google Gemini.

It’s great because:

  • You can run it on any site

  • You don’t need custom tracking

  • You get brand radar features to analyze brand mentions across the web and platforms

This is great for macro-level benchmarking and fast analysis.

3. Our Custom LLM Tracking Tool

Finally, we use our own tracking tool to assess brand visibility in LLMs using a custom set of prompts.

Here’s what it includes:

  • Mention analytics (e.g., for e-signature software)

  • Brand share of voice

  • Frequency distribution (who they co-occur with)

  • Brand mentions over time (rising/falling trends)

  • Competitive insights (e.g., who’s quoted the most)

  • Source influence tracking

It helps us better assess a brand’s LLM visibility across specific prompts — and track performance over time.

That’s a quick summary of our three favorite AI search tools. A lot of new ones are coming out, so use whatever works best for your process — but these are the ones we rely on day to day at Nectiv.
