Reddit now reaches 514.6 million people a week, is the most-cited domain in Google's AI Mode, and grew ad revenue 64% last quarter. Its organic search traffic is also down 22% year over year. Both things are true, and marketers need both sets of numbers.

This page collects the Reddit statistics that matter for marketing in 2026: audience, traffic, search, AI citations, purchase influence, B2B research, and ad performance. It combines Nectiv's own pulls from Ahrefs with data from Reddit's SEC filings, Pew Research Center, Similarweb, Tinuiti, Semrush, Peec AI and SurveyMonkey. Every number links to its source and states the period it covers.

## What these numbers mean for your 2026 strategy

Three patterns run through the data.

**Reddit's value is shifting from clicks to citations.** Its organic search traffic is down 22% in a year, yet it leads Google AI Mode citations and ranks first or second on every major AI engine. A Reddit thread that mentions your brand may now reach more buyers through an AI answer than through a search click.

**Buyers use Reddit to check what AI tells them.** About half of US shoppers say they verify AI recommendations there, and 32% of software buyers have used it for purchase research. What Reddit says about a brand shapes both the AI answer and the check that follows it.

**AI visibility on Reddit is volatile, so measure it by engine.** ChatGPT's Reddit citations dropped from about 60% of responses to 10% in six weeks in 2025. Perplexity's Reddit share fell from 25% to 7% in two months in 2026. Track citations per engine and avoid building a program that depends on one of them.

## Methodology

This page lists 84 statistics, each checked against the linked source on October 9, 2026. Each entry gives the period the data covers and when the source published it.

- **Reddit company data** comes from Reddit's SEC filings and shareholder letters for Q4 2024 through Q2 2026. Reddit's fiscal quarters match calendar quarters, so Q2 2026 is April–June 2026. Q3 2026 results were not out at the time of writing.

- **Nectiv analysis of Ahrefs data** covers reddit.com including subdomains, pulled from Ahrefs Site Explorer and Brand Radar on October 9, 2026. Organic traffic and traffic value are Ahrefs estimates modelled from rankings.

- **Similarweb figures** are estimates for September 2026, taken from Similarweb's public reddit.com profile.

- **Survey data** is from Pew Research Center (independent), and from Attest and SurveyMonkey studies that Reddit commissioned. The Reddit-commissioned results describe what respondents say they do.

- **Reported through secondary coverage:** the UK, trust and search-query findings from Reddit's Path to Purchase 2026 survey, Tinuiti's April 2026 Perplexity figures, the three earnings-call statements, and the 73% peer-trust figure. Each entry names the outlet.

- **Agency estimates** for cost per click, CPM and conversion rate are compiled by ad agencies from client accounts and are not audited. They are labelled as such where they appear.
