AEO Case Study: CHEQ Sees +5,600% AI Citation Growth To Commercial Content
Background
CHEQ is the control plane for the agentic web. The platform identifies every entity that touches a digital property (human, AI agent, or bot) and reads its identity, intent, and full journey. Teams use that identity-level visibility to protect paid media spend, keep lead and analytics data clean, block fraud and abuse, and govern how AI agents interact with their digital properties. That same entity data feeds the systems downstream, so what gets blocked at the edge also shapes what teams see in their analytics and act on in their funnel.
Before partnering with Nectiv, CHEQ did not have an established search program with a clear strategy to support their GTM priorities. The Nectiv team partnered with CHEQ to understand their challenges and how to create a strategy to support both AI and traditional search.
Support
After the partnership began, within the first 30 days we provided a full Initial Research + Strategy Build plan for CHEQ. This included a complete breakdown of key insights such as competitor performance, SEO + AI search benchmarking and core challenges faced by the business.

One of the key pillars that we discovered was that the CHEQ site had extremely weak commercial coverage when compared with competitors. Key pages that highlighted core GTM features such as Bot Management, Agentic Commerce, Enterprise Tag Management, Server Side Tagging and more were present and able to be ingested by AI and search engines.
As a result, we created a plan to fill the SEO + AEO gap for these key page types. This included end-to-end briefing + content creation to fill these gaps in key use cases that mapped back to their ICP.

Key content was designed and formatted in a way to support both a strong UX and dense content for Google and AI engines. We used structured content formats to specifically highlight key product functionality and FAQs to answer questions that could position CHEQ in the same way their SDRs would.

Nectiv fully owned the content engine to support these page types. This included full management of the content pipeline in every aspect including planning, reviews/feedback/QA, and measurement.

Results
After publishing these pages, CHEQ saw strong results in both traditional search + AI engines across the board. These pages started at a mere 26 citations with a 0.26% citation rate from February 2026 - April 2026.
However, after publishing key /solutions/ content, citations began to dramatically increase. Between May 2026 - July 2026, these pages saw 1,482 citations across ChatGPT, AI Mode, Gemini and Perplexity, a +5,600% increase.

Traditional search also improved for these pages alongside AI engine growth. This included flipping negative year-over-year organic traffic the site had been experiencing when Nectiv started the partnership:

Some key statistics for year-over-year growth during the same time period included.
